Talking about the head to head rivalry between Rishabh Pant and Australian bowler Nathan Lyon, Pant has enjoyed this battle in the two series so far. The off-spinner has defeated the 26-year-old Pant on five occasions. However, Pant has scored runs against his bowling at an average of 45.80 and a strike rate of 65.99. This series is likely to be one of the decisive matches in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
Speaking to Star Sports, Lyon said that Rishabh Pant has all the skills in the world, but he is not afraid even if he hits a six.
He said, “Bowling to a player like Rishabh Pant – he is great, isn’t he? He has all the skills in the world. As a bowler, you have very little room for error, so you have to perform well. It is a challenge. As a bowler, if a six is hit off my ball, I am not afraid.”
“The challenge is to not give the batsmen a chance, not let a player like Rishabh move ahead of the crease and potentially try to defend my balls rather than attack them. And in the meantime, I will try to create some opportunities during this time as well.”
